Recognition, certification and supervision of the activities of the Recognised Security Organisation shall be performed by the State limited liability company “Maritime Administration of Latvia”. The Maritime Administration shall recognise the organisation by taking a decision to issue a certificate of conformity to the organisation for six years for the performance of one or more activities in the territory of the Republic of Latvia: • assessment of ship security; • ship security inspections and certification; • preparation of the ship security plan and amendments thereto; • preparation of the port security plan and amendments thereto; • preparation of the port facility security plan and amendments thereto; • training of port personnel in accordance with the laws and regulations regarding the protection of ships, shipping companies, ports and port facilities; • training of port facility personnel in accordance with the laws and regulations regarding the protection of ships, shipping companies, ports and port facilities.
