Why is it important to confirm your email address?

Your email address must be confirmed on the state administration service portal Latvia.gov.lv (hereinafter – the portal) in order to receive important messages and notifications from state institutions and local governments. This is especially important to receive property tax notifications, bills, decisions, and other important information in a timely manner.

By providing and confirming your email address on the portal, it is crucial to ensure that it is correct and usable.

Most common mistakes that can hinder successful email confirmation and communication.

1. Using an unsuitable email domain

   Notifications cannot be delivered to an email address with a domain that is blocked in Latvia. To avoid this issue, check the list of restricted domains on the NEPLP (The National Electronic Mass Media Council) website at this link:

2. Full email inbox

   If there is no free space in your email inbox, notifications, including the confirmation email with the code, cannot be delivered. Solution: check your inbox and free up space.

3. The code can be found in your email's spam or junk section

   Check if the code is not found in your email's spam or junk section.

4. Incorrect or inappropriate email address

   When confirming your email, provide the address you use regularly. Versions such as: name.surname@latvija.lv or personal.code@latvija.lv are not valid.

5. Errors in the email address entry

   Small errors, such as incorrect letters (diacritical marks, soft signs), symbols, or missing elements in the email address, can prevent the delivery of notifications. Email confirmation helps to identify and correct such errors.

How to confirm your email address?

1. Check if the email address provided in Your profile is correct and usable.

2. Click the 'Start Confirmation' button.

3. A confirmation code will be sent to the email address you provided from pazinojumi@vdaa.gov.lv.

4. Follow the instructions in the email and on the email confirmation page to confirm your email address.

How to make sure the email address is confirmed?

Check if the email address provided in Your profile is confirmed and meets the following criteria:

1. Above the email input field, the label "Your email has been confirmed!" is displayed.

2. The email input field has a green border.

3. There is a green checkmark on the right side of the email input field.
