Requesting Service
1. For an e-service to be available, you need to authenticate with an Internet Banking Authentication feature, an eSignatory, or an eID smart card by clicking the icon in the e-service card.
2. General information about the e-service is available by clicking the service name link in the e-services list.
3. After authentication, the user can start the e-service by clicking the “Start e-service” link.
4. To start an e-service, you need to familiarize yourself with the terms of use of the e-service and approve them by selecting the “I agree to terms of use for the e-service” box and clicking the “Start” push button. The service initiated is registered under “E-services” with a unique e-service identification number assigned by the portal.
5. The e-service form opens, where you can see the properties owned by the person and the outstanding amount of real estate tax on the active tab.
6. By pressing the active link in the “pay” column, you can view details about the specific property unit - name\/address, cadastre number, calculated tax amount in EUR, and information about the debt, late payment or overpayment, tax due dates, and the possibility of creating a free-form reminder for yourself.
7. Pressing the “pay” button next to the property record opens the payments section, where you can start paying the tax online.
8. It is possible to pay the property tax in instalments by entering the desired amount in the field “Enter the amount for payment (EUR):”. Before the payment starts, consent must be given by ticking the box “I have become acquainted with the prepared payment information and agree to the payment” and selecting the local government bank account to which the payment will be made. To start a payment, press the “pay” button.
9. A latvija.gov.lv payment system window appears with payment information. When you press the “pay” button, you must select the bank from which the payment will be made. After payment is completed, payment information is displayed with the option to return to the latvija.gov.lv portal.
10. Using the service, it is possible to pay the immovable property tax for property belonging to another person. For this purpose, instead of the steps described in paragraph 5 of the manual, you must select the “pay for another person” tab in the form shown on the screen.
11. A list of municipalities is displayed on the screen. In the list, click the name of the municipality where the property belonging to another person is located. In a pop-up form, you must enter the personal identity number of the person who owns the property in the “personal identity Code:” field. In the “property account number:” field, you must enter the account number of this property in the municipality. To continue paying, press the “pay for another person” button. If incorrect information is entered, after pressing the “pay for another person” push button, the “incorrect personal identity number entered” error message or “the chosen municipality does not have property with the specified property account number” error message is displayed on the screen.
12. When continuing to pay the immovable property tax on another person, the following operations shall be carried out in accordance with the operations described in paragraphs 8 and 9 of this Guideline.
13. The “payment Notifications” tab displays the received real estate tax invoices.
