1. Service requests
The submission and the documents appended thereto shall be submitted in person to the office of the Riga Tourism information Centre in Town Square 6 or sent electronically, signing them with a secure electronic signature, to the electronic address: gidi@riga.lv. If documents are submitted electronically to the Riga Investment and Tourism Agency, they shall be prepared in accordance with the laws and regulations regarding drawing up of electronic documents.
2. Pay step
Examination of the documents submitted by the applicant shall be commenced when, in accordance with the requirements of Paragraph 11 of the binding Regulation No. 91 of the Riga City Council of 17 December 2013 on provision of tourist guide services in Riga City, the applicant has covered the costs of examination of documents, preparation and issuance of the certificate.
Payment for the service shall be transferred in the form of cashless settlements into the current account of the Riga Investment and Tourism Agency on the basis of an invoice issued by the Riga Investment and Tourism Agency.
3. Receipt of services
After receipt of documents and payment, a meeting of the Riga tourist guides certification Commission shall be convened within one month, during which a decision is taken to issue the certificate or to refuse to issue it.
In the case of a decision to issue a certificate, a certificate and identification mark of a specified sample shall be drawn up, which informs the recipient of tourist guide services regarding the provider of the service and certifies the quality of the service.
Each applicant is informed individually about the time of receipt of the certificate at Riga Tourism information Centre in Town Square 6, sending the information to the electronic address indicated in the questionnaire.
In the case of refusal to issue a certificate, the applicant shall be informed in writing of the decision taken, sending the information to the electronic address indicated in the questionnaire.
