1. Completion of the security guard worker qualification test In order to apply for the examination of the qualification of a security guard employee, the person must submit an application to the State Police for the completion of the qualification examination of the security guard officer. An application may be submitted in person, by post or by electronic means (an application may be sent without a secure electronic signature) or by means of an e-address of the State Police. Organising the security officer's qualification check takes place in Riga, Pacific Street 12 k-2 – twice a week - on Tuesday and Thursday from 10.00 – 12.00. The national fee for carrying out an examination of EUR 40 must be paid by the person before the application is submitted, see page Step 8 “Paying for Pay” Before the examination is completed, the person shall present: (a) a personal identification document; (b) the acquisition of an educational document attesting to the training of the vocational development education programme “Basic Level Knowledge Education Programme” or the professional development education programme “Guard work” (code: 20P 861 00) at 160 hours. The examination must be conducted in the official language 2. A re-examination of the security officer's qualification, if the examination has not been completed. In order to re-organise the examination of the qualification of a security guard employee, a person must re-submit an application to the State Police for the completion of the security security activity qualification examination. Receipt of a security guard certificate In order to be able to receive a security guard certificate, the person who has successfully passed the security officer's qualification test or the person who has acquired: • vocational training programmes in the field of security services (professional code: 5414) and obtaining professional qualifications, not lower than the second level of professional qualifications, • a first-level vocational higher education study programme and obtained a professional qualification “Security Specialist”; • have acquired a fifth-level vocational higher education study programme and obtained the professional qualification “Head of the Security Service”, an application for the receipt of a security guard certificate shall be submitted to the State Police. An application may be submitted in person, by post or by electronic means (by sending an e-mail signed with a secure electronic signature (eParaksta)) or by means of an e-address of the State Police. If the term of validity is not specified in the opinion, no more than 90 days may have elapsed from the date of issue thereof (this requirement does not apply to a person who has performed a health check in a medical treatment institution for the possession (carrying) of weapons or for the work of weapons, and information in the Register of Weapons or the Register of Licences and Certificates); 3. a copy of a certificate regarding the completion of a basic training course of first aid for a period of 12 hours with a three-hour knowledge test or a copy of a medical education document or a copy of the educational establishment document and a statement of performance attesting that that person has acquired an appropriate training course in that educational establishment; 4. a copy of the educational document, which certifies the acquisition of the educational programme referred to in Paragraph 2 of Cabinet Regulation No. 380 of 27 June 2017 “Procedures for Issuing Guard Certificates” or the acquisition of the vocational training education programme “Guard Work” (code: 20P 861 00) within 160 hours. The security guard certificate can be obtained on site in Riga, Pacific Street 12 k-2 (former Klimans Street 4) on Tuesday or Thursday at the time of acceptance from 12:30 a.m. 14:30. Upon receipt of a security guard certificate, a personal identification document shall be produced. 4. Receipt of a Repeal Guard Certificate In order for the security guard certificate to be re-received (if the person has changed the given name or surname) or, if a duplicate security guard certificate is required (if the security guard certificate has been lost, hijacked or damaged), an application shall be submitted to the State Police. Manufacture and receipt of a security guard certificate The security guard certificate shall be produced within one month from the date of receipt of your APPLICATION. After the security guard certificate has been manufactured, you will be informed by telephone or electronic means that the certificate can be obtained in Riga, Pacific Street 12 k-2 (former Kliman Street 4) on Tuesday or Thursday at the time of acceptance from 12:30 a.m. 14:30. Extension of the term of validity of the security guard certificate without completion of the examin A person who wishes to extend the term of validity of the security guard certificate without the completion of the examination, not later than a month and not earlier than three months before the expiry of the term of validity of the security guard certificate shall submit a submission to the State Police for the extension of the term of validity of the security guard certificate without the completion of the security guard worker's qualification examination.
